Regional carbon budgets and debt
Distribute the remaining carbon budget across IAMC R10 regions using population (and optionally GDP) as equity weights, then compare each region's fair share against cumulative emissions under a chosen future pathway. Allocation math is sourced from fair-shares — for deeper analysis, extensions, or your own allocation work, use the library directly.

Vertical axis: projected cumulative emissions minus allocation to 2050 (GtCO₂); positive means debt. Horizontal axis: the region's total per-capita emissions relative to its fair share (> 1 means it overdraws its allocation).
